After what was supposed to be a lazy weekend, another work week kicks in, and this means working hard at the office, commuting in crisp winter mornings, and answering the ever pressing question: "What to wear to work today?" It's winter season currently, so the answer must include two things: coats & layers. No cold season will ever be complete without a perfectly edited coat wardrobe. Ever.
And it seems to me, no other style favourite has had a longer history than the a classic camel coat. I first blogged about the my camel coat in the beginning of fall, in this post. It was my first outfit of the day as well as the first snowfall of the year and I quickly pulled out my trusty camel duffle coat with my Gucci loafers and felt instantly chic and put together. I personally prefer a camel duffel coat because of how versatile it is. The camel coat will create a french-girl inspired feel to your looks this season! We can all thank MaxMara who in 1981, designed the iconic camel coat and ever since, it has remained its most sold and famous piece. The camel coat has never really left the rails, yet, it hasn't held the spotlight either in quite sometime. So, for 2017, try and source a camel coat, the more vintage the coat, the better the wool will feel and wear.
So, what are a few of my favourite ways to wear them? Not to mention, where to wear?! Personally, I love wearing a camel coat at all occasions but the design of the coat may hinder the possibilities. A duffle camel coat  with a pleated skirt and cashmere sweater reads more relaxed, casual chic whereas a classic, oversized wrap coat and a fitted dress is perfect for family gatherings and nights out - surely making your celebrations with the family outdoors more classy and sophisticated. I love wearing my coat with the sleeves rolled up, collar popped, perfect for crispy mornings,  and able to cover up any festive dresses.
Yes, the camel coat is insanely versatile! Trousers? Check! Skirts? Check! Culottes? Check! And like I said, one of my favourite styling tricks is that they look good with any vibrant colours and prints. My leopard clutch bag added a third element to the look that gave the look an air of romantic and girly flair. So how will you style the shoe that's every season's chicest trend (not to mention just $50 for the coat)? Let me know what your favourite is in the comments below!
