Finding versatile pieces in your closet is the best way to expand it without spending any money. Whether you're borrowing clothes from family and friends, turning a shirt into a dress or wearing your dress backwaters-it's a quick, easy and totally free way to make most of your wardrobe! If there's one accessory you should keep on hand, it's a neck scarf! I got creative styling this one as it was a decorative bow from a present I received recently. As soon as I took one look at the polka dot design, I knew that it was going to be my brand new choker/ neck scarf/ belt/ bag scarf/ hair tie. I immediately dreamed of wearing it across my neck, waist, ponytail and bags. Read on to see my 5 new ways to tie a neck scarf.
1. Belt It
Wearing A-line skirts or wide leg culottes? Loop your scarf through your belt hoops or across your waist line in a bow! It's an easy way to add a fun texture to your look! If you don't like the bow to stick out, just tie a small knot and weave the rest of the fabric in a circle across your waist. This would give you a peplum shape that changes the look of your outfit.
2. Scarf ( Hijab) Style
The scarf style is a total classic and I love that it adds a feminine, modern touch especially when tied securely around your neck and it falls in front of your shirt! If bows aren't your thing, tie it closely to your neck and go in circles until you have the length needed to throw the rest of the material across your chest. Trust me, it will give you a completely different look. The chiffon material is so versatile and you can really tie it however you like!
3. Hair Tie
Nothing says classic like wrapping a scarf around your bun or ponytail. It gives your hair some volume and oomph under your hijab. To do this- first, tie your hair into a low ponytail or a bun. Then take the neck scarf and knot in a circle around the ponytail. To secure the scarf from slipping off the hair, I secured it with hijab pins. You can also use bobby pins. Viola, your have just created volume in your hijab.
4. Under a Blazer
Tie your scarf under a blazer to cinch in your waist and give it a are twist to a classic silhouette. Especially since blazers and sweaters can oftentimes make you look boxier than you are, adding this element to define your waistline is the perfect way to give yourself a little shape.
Accessories can really make or break your outfit, so why not give them a little extra love! Accessories for your handbags, like bag charms and keychains, are all the rage right now. So why not use the scarf to give your handbag an added feminine twist.
